FAQ

WHO CAN PRESENT?

UH faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate.  UH-affiliated individuals may also bring in community speakers, so long as there will be a UH representative facilitating the session.  The QSeries program provides facilitators, though speakers can request a preferred UH facilitator if available.

HOW WILL THE SERIES BE ADVERTISED?

The series is shared with various networks, including but not limited to the UH Commission for LGBTQ+ Equality, the UH Commission on the Status of Women, Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation, Hawaiʻi Papa o Ke Ao, Pūkoʻa Council, Pamantasan, and various community organizations.

MAY I ADVERTISE THE SERIES TO MY NETWORKS?

You are more than welcome to assist with spreading the word.  A flyer will be provided for each series.

WHAT IF I SELECT A TOPIC THAT SOMEONE ELSE IS ALREADY PRESENTING?

If two or more individuals or groups submit topics that look similar, we may ask more questions regarding the session content to determine if they are different enough that they will still provide different perspectives on the same topic.  If we determine that the content of two or more sessions might be too similar, we may contact you to see if you would like to connect with the other presenter(s) to discuss the possibility of doing a session together.

WHAT WILL PRESENTERS BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

Presenters, panelists, and coordinators will be responsible for creating session content and providing a photo and bio for the program.  Kalei will be in touch leading up to each session, so please check your email for updates.

Presenters should also plan to manage any activities for the session (i.e., polls, playing videos, etc.).  Facilitators will be assisting with admitting people into the room and helping presenters track questions in the chat.

WHAT WILL FACILITATORS BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

Facilitators will be responsible for taking on co-host duties in order to (1) admit attendees throughout the session and (2) monitor the chat for questions to ensure all inquiries are answered / addressed.  Facilitators are also asked to share the evaluation and series' program in the chat at the end of the session.

Interested in being a facilitator?  Send Kalei an email at kalei.ruiz@hawaii.edu.
